Tiger Leaping Gorge 2 Day Hiking Tour

Hike into Tiger Leaping Gorge to enjoy mountain views and one of the deepest gorges in the world. A hike through Tiger Leaping Gorge is simultaneously awe-inspiring and tranquil. Fresh winds, looming mountain peaks, donkey bells and produce fields set a magnificent scene. During your hike you will visit guest houses and experience local hospitality of both Tibetan and Naxi people. At Tina's Guest house drink a cold beer, chat with Tina and some other locals, and listen to eerie water singing.

There are two roads: the higher narrow road, which provides beautiful scenery on the first day. The lower road is wider and allows you to relax on the second day.

Itinerary

Day 1
08:00~ 10:30 Pick up at the Water Wheel and drive to the Tiger Leaping Gorge Ticket Office(Qiaotou)
10:30 Begin the hike on the high scenic route
12:00 Have lunch at the Naxi YaGe Guest House
13:00 Continue to hike on the high scenic road.
17:00 Arrive at the Tea Horse Guest House for the night stay room with private bathroom.

Day 2
08:00 After breakfast hike about 3~4hours down to Tina's, on the way you can see very nice views of the gorge, valley, waterfall...

Have lunch in Tina's or walnut garden, then drive about 3 hours back to Lijiang, end the tour.

 



Participant guidelines

Bring:
-Comfortable hiking shoes
-Clothing for warm and cooler temperatures as the temperature will vary according to our location on the hike
-Camera and spare batteries
-Your personal medications.

You can buy some supplies on the way such as water and tissues, however, they are not always easily accessible.

Participants should have medium fitness level, the routes can be rocky, slippery when wet and steep.
